Christina and Sam met on the Blue Dolphins Swim Team while they were in middle and high school, respectively. They grew up as friends and lost connection along the way.
Sam was working at Zen's in Dallas, and Christina came in for lunch. They started talking, and Sam suggested they go get a beer together. It was cute because Christina later heard him in the kitchen (from across the restaurant) that "the girl who made him Thai food for the first time ever was here and that her food needed to be perfect." Eight months later, Christina asked when they were going to go get that beer together. They did so that night at the Solar Eclipse Festival. The connection was instant, and they talked for over an hour before he had to go back to work. He knew then that she was the one for him, but they didn't go out again until... Five months later. This time, Christina went into the restaurant for lunch (as she did quite often to see Sam) and he wasn't there. There was someone new working. So, Christina messaged him and very bluntly said, "So now that you have someone else in here, does that mean you have more free time for us to hang out?" He quickly responded with, "What are you doing tonight?" He brought her Dutch Bros. and they went ice skating and out for cake. A week later, they decided that this was worth being pursued and they have been inseparable since.
Sam planned out a very beautiful surprise photo shoot under the Cherry Blossom trees with their families. As they were doing couple photos, he knelt down, pulled out a gorgeous ring, and asked her to marry him to which she said yes. The couple then celebrated with their families at Gilgamesh Brewing in Salem, OR.
