It was the summer of 2012. While in grad school I took my dogs, the boys, to the park almost every day. One day at the park I met Samson's mom Abba, with her three dogs. We quickly connected and one day she brought her son Samson to join them at the park. Samson was the strong silent type, who listened patiently, and taught me about the to do in Houston, while I jabbered away, occasionally chasing my dog from escaping the park. He began to show up more and more to the park with the three dogs and eventually began bring them on his own. We quickly became friends and then began dating months later. We went on our first vacation together only a few months after we began dating, for spring break in 2013. We went skiing with one of Samson's good friends Hunter, to Rhiodoso, where Samson first told me that he loved me and our love story began:) Since then we have ski'd, hiked, camped, eaten, drank, and laughed for seven years. Cannot wait to see what we can pack into the next few decades!
It was a beautiful day outside, Samson told me that we were going to walk the boys in the park. We were almost back to the car and he stopped to tie his shoe and handed me Charlie's leash. I turned around and he was on one knee, with a box. He opened the box and asked me to marry him:) I tearfully accepted his offer!
We both love the outdoors; I love hiking and being active, Samson loves to hunt and camp, so naturally we picked one of the most beautiful states that we can share our passion for nature in, Colorado! After our engagement in April of 2018, we looked up the best places to get married in Colorado, found Telluride, and booked a venue! We visited Telluride for the first time in September of 2018 and fell in love with the fall colors, the breathtaking views, and the warm personality that the small town exudes. We are so excited to share that warmth with the people that we love and care for the most on one of the most important days of our lives:)
