Black Dog is a well-known local restaurant serving conventional smokehouse and BBQ fare. It is also located in downtown Champaign, making it easy to visit other local shops neaby.
Pandamonium Doughnuts
Update: Pandamonium has decided to close their store as of end of June :( If you crave for donut, Parlor Donuts on Kirby is not half bad. This is my favorite shop in Champaign! Can’t recommend it enough. -Sophie Pandamonium is a local donuts shop that serves all-natural daily-hmade donuts and beverages including novel seasonal flavors.
Yummy Future
Yummy future is a robot coffee shop that came into being as a startup launched by some U of I alumni. The drinks are made by various robots and autonomous machines working in tandem.
Northern Cuisine
Do you know that CU has an awesome Chinese food scene?! Personally, I think this is currently the best Chinese restaurant in town. If you are unsure what to order, can never go wrong with Beef W/ Cilantro and Stir Fried Chicken W/ Long Pepper and Hot Chili! I heard their Crispy Pork in Sweet and Sour Glaze is great too :) It is on campus so the parking might be difficult.
