To allow all wedding guests, including parents, a weekend of relaxation and uninhibited revelry, we have decided to keep our wedding adults only. In full transparency, Charlie's two nieces will be our flower girls, but we respectfully ask that no other children attend. If unable to leave your children at home, and require child care in New Orleans, please email emilyandcharlie2023@gmail.com so we can help.
Second Lines are a New Orleans tradition established in the 1800s. Modern Second Lines are like private parades, where a Jazz band leads a group (us and our wedding guests) on a 20-30 minute stroll through the French Quarter. Join us and be part of the parade! To better understand the tradition and the people/culture it's passed down from you can read further here --> https://www.frenchquarter.com/secondline/
The door will open at 5:30 pm, and we kindly ask that all guests are seated prior to the ceremony starting at 6:00 pm.
New Orleans weather is famously unpredictable so it's always good to check the weather forecast before you pack your bags to be best prepared. It's always recommended to pack a rain jacket as well! The welcome party, ceremony, and reception venues are all inside, and the wedding party has backup plans for transportation for everyone.
