How do I get to Dundas Castle or my hotel from Edinburgh Airport?

Answer

We recommend using Uber or hailing a taxi at the Edinburgh Airport Taxi rank. A journey to the Dakota Hotel or Dundas will take around 15 minutes from the Airport.

What Should I Wear? Is There A Dress Code?

Answer

Our wedding is formal cocktail attire. Everyone needs an excuse to dress up after this pandemic!

Will there be transportation provided on the day?

Answer

We are providing a shuttle bus between Dakota Hotel (Edinburgh) and Dundas Castle on the day of the wedding (1pm-2pm in the afternoon, and 11pm-1am in the evening).

Will The Ceremony And Reception Be Indoors Or Outdoors?

Answer

Both are indoors.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We would love for the parents to have a fun night out!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at Dundas Castle for 2pm.

Is there parking available?

Answer

Yes, parking is available at the back of Dundas Castle. Follow signs for 'Guest parking'. Guests with mobility issues can be dropped off at the front of the castle.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! In our formal invitations there will be an area to highlight any allergies or special requests.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Scotland is famous for unpredictable weather. In early August, it could be a scorching summer day or a slight downpour. All events are planned to be indoors!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your formal invitation (sent out in 2022) says “and Guest,” then yes. If not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes! We would be delighted for you to take photos of our day, however please refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony. Our hashtag is #SAMNCAM2023
