Sam and Joey met in April 2022 at a Lodi Downtown Bar "Gary's". They were both out with some mutual friends. Sam made the first move, told Joey she thought he was cute and asked for his number. It was instant sparks, they've spoke everyday since that night out. Early memories consisted of intertwining friend groups, meeting family and doing their favorite thing - traveling ! Their first trips were Santa Cruz, Camping at Bear River, and South Lake Tahoe. Joey asked Sam to be his girlfriend after a day of golfing and pina coladas in July 2022... The rest is history!

Joey proposed to Sam on the beach at sunset in Coos Bay, Oregon in June 2025. They were on a week long coastal roadtrip where they drove the scenic 101 along the Oregon Coast and ended the week at a Post Malone Concert in Seattle, Washington. They made so many memories and celebrated an amazing milestone! Since then they've celebrated with friends and family at their engagement party in Lodi and took engagement photos in San Diego.
