For the religious wedding ceremony at the Sikh temple: conservative Indian attire is recommended. It is customary to sit on the floor in a cross-legged position during the duration of the ceremony, we kindly request you wear clothing that would allow you to do so comfortably. For men, a suit or formal attire is appropriate. For women, modest Indian/Punjabi attire is appropriate.
Gurdwara is place of assembly and worship in Sikhism, but its normal meaning is "place of guru" or "home of guru. The Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the living Guru of Sikhs in the form of their written word. It's custom to remove your shoes and keep your head covered. If you do not have one, they will be provided for you to use. Breakfast and lunch will also be provided for you. We're extremely excited to celebrate our big day with you all!
