What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

The dress code is black-tie optional. The dress code is slightly flexible to accommodate formal attire that may not strictly adhere to traditional black tie guidelines.

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

While we love kids and wish we could have all of your little ones join us, we have opted for a primarily adults celebration and will indicate on your invitation whether you're able to bring your children.

Is there parking at the venue

Answer

There is free parking available on-site with parking attendants. The venue is ~30 minutes from downtown Charleston and we highly recommend taking an uber/lyft if you are planning to drink. You will not be able to leave your car overnight

Are there nearby accommodations for out-of-town guests?

Answer

Yes, Charleston has a wide range of accommodations available for travelers & families of all sizes. Our preferred hotels are listed on the Travel tab of the website. If you're interested in staying on-property, Middleton Place offers its own hotel & inn. We have a room block at a hotel in Charleston listed on the Travel section of the website. Downtown Charleston offers the most abundant variety of hotel options and is located 25 minutes from the venue, though there are a number of hotels along the route between downtown Charleston & the venue as well. For those hoping to stay at the beach, Folly Beach and Isle of Palms are each 45 minutes away from the venue and 30 minutes from the airport. The beaches offer a variety of hotels, Air BNBs/ VRBOs and other weekend rentals.

Is transportation provided?

Answer

We are not arranging for guest transportation to the venue. However, we have coordinated for two trolley's to pick us up at the end of the night, if you wish to join us for the after-party downtown. One trolley is reserved for the bridal party & significant others, while the other trolley is reserved for guests. Seats on the trolley will be on a first-come, first-serve basis and can fit up to 45 guests. Given the venue location, Ubers are difficult to call later in the evening for pick-up. Please plan to pre-book an uber, ride with someone who is driving, or take the trolley home.

How far away is the venue from downtown?

Answer

Middleton Place is located about 25-30 minutes from downtown Charleston. The roads can get congested with traffic and will be heavier on the weekends. Please plan accordingly when arranging transportation to the venue. We recommend guests aim to arrive at the venue by 5:30 pm.
