Our Story - Sammy

Gabe and I first met at the end of our freshman year at BGSU. We went out on a few dates that summer, but I decided to friendzone him (Lol). Hindsight 20/20, not a great decision on my part. Anyways, we stayed in touch over that year, but just as friends. We played on a flag football team together and hung out a few times, but nothing came of it. Flash forward to the summer of 2020, Gabe had posted a picture of him and his baby cousin, which prompted me to start a conversation, because he was a cute baby! We started talking again after that and Gabe decided to ask me out on a date, and I decided to give him another chance. That was a better decision on my part. The rest is history and now I can't imagine my life without him <3

Our Story - Gabe

She wouldn't hold my hand...

Sammy and I met at the end of our freshman year at BGSU, but my first memory of seeing her was at Starbucks before church one morning in The Union. I remember leaving and having to know who she was. Later on, I did and I decided to reach out to her, we went on a couple of dates that summer, and I was sold, the only issue was, she wasn't. We went on a date to get coffee and walk around the Square in Medina, as we were leaving I tried to hold her hand and quickly realized that our feelings may not have been moving at the same pace. However, that didn't change the way I felt about her and we still talked from time to time and I would take whatever amount of her time she would give me. I was in no rush though because I knew there wasn't anywhere else I wanted to be, fast forward a year and she had decided to reach back out to me during the summer of 2020. I went to her work ,Hillside Orchard, to buy some apple butter as an excuse to see her, I decided to ask her on a date again and she said yes. We grabbed dinner and watched a sunset at Lakewood Park, and from the beginning of the date, I could tell it was different this time (she also held my hand). We started dating a few weeks later and have continued to make countless memories over the past 15 months. Waiting for her was one of the best decisions I've ever made and now I get to spend the rest of my life making memories and starting a family with her. That's our story.
