Kyle and I met in 2017 during my senior year at the University of Arizona. One night, near campus, I was on a run with my good friend Shareese, when a tall guy (Kyle), came running by and joined our conversation. The conversation lasted less than a minute before Kyle ran off ahead. Little did we both know that we would meet again months later through our church small group. As Kyle and I got to know each other through our community at Ucity church, we grew very fond of each other. After the stress of school was over in May of 2017, we went on our first date. We went to Trader Joe’s to grocery shop and made dinner and dessert together. We then wandered over to Old Main on the University of Arizona’s campus and sat on the grass and talked. Our relationship was made official on July 4, 2017. We embarked on a year of back and forth from Tucson to Phoenix as Kyle finished his senior year as a mechanical engineering student at the U of A. In September of 2018, both Kyle and I decided to take 6 months away from each other and focus on what God had for us. I went to Mazatlan, Mexico for 3 months and then Colombia for 2 months. And Kyle went to Oakhurst, California, near Yosemite National Park for 3 months and then onto Nepal for another 3. During that time, God taught both Kyle and I alot about ourselves individually and also about our possible future together! After 6 months apart, and credit all to God for his plan, we returned and Kyle was even more confident that he wanted to spend the rest of the rest with me.
Three weeks after Kyle returned from Nepal, we went to Boulder, Colorado to explore where Kyle was getting ready to move! The first day of our trip, after a very early flight, Kyle asked me to marry him! We are very excited to start our lives together and to live in beautiful Colorado!
