It all started back in 2020. It was March and the pandemic had just started. We never ever would have thought that amid all that crazy unknown, we would find the surest thing of our lives. Adam was living in Hoboken and Sam on Long Island. While we honestly sometimes wish we had met in a cuter way – at a bar, on a ski lift, on a dance floor, you get the idea – Hinge somehow linked us together, and we’re still not completely sure how. Let’s call it fate. The location settings shouldn’t have overlapped given the distance between us, as Adam had just moved home back to Bucks County when the world shut down from Covid. Somehow, one day, Sam popped up on Hinge when Adam was standing in the kitchen of the house he grew up in. She was cute, went to UDel, and had a custom made Grateful Dead graduation cap. Luckily, we matched, and after a few days of non-stop texting, we had our first FaceTime date (where Sam wore makeup for the first time during the pandemic). Unbeknownst to both of us, we would both come out of our rooms to anxious barrages of questions from our family. The most common one went something like, “what in the world were you guys talking about, it's been three hours!” We very quickly became best friends and we both instantly knew that we had a stumbled upon someone who just may be our forever. After over 2 months of talking every day, we finally were able to meet up in person in Hoboken. Today, we look back on that weekend as the time that we both knew we had found our person. As the years have passed, we have been spoiled with a love that is truly special. Our best friendship has only grown stronger, and we’ve experienced some of life’s many highs and lows together – great accomplishments and some trying disappointments. Sam decided to go to PCOM for medical school and Adam switched careers, which brought us back to Philly where we have continued to build our life. We are so excited to continue growing together. We have had countless adventures over the past 5 years. We have traveled to beautiful places, attended awesome concerts (mostly Goose), got engaged and celebrated with our friends and family, and treated every day like its own unique adventure, always with each other by our sides. We can’t possibly be more excited for our greatest adventure yet on August 23rd. See ya all in Philly!
