We met on the dating app Bumble. Both people have to match and the woman initiates the conversation. We messaged each other on the app for a total of 3 days, then I asked Adam, “when are we meeting in-person?” Since we were living on opposite ends, we met in the middle at Punchbowl Social (a bar & arcade). My first impressions: he’s tall, has a nice smile and was wearing my favorite color, purple. Within minutes we played Jewish geography and found out that Adam’s cousin, Eli Swaden, not only went to my high school but we also taught together at the JCC. We then played several games: skee ball (Adam won), golf (I won), Giant Jenga (I won and Adam gave himself a bloody nose), Ping Pong (I probably won). Clearly we are not competitive. We practically closed the place down and we were already planning our second date. Here we are four years later. I knew after six months of dating that Adam was/is my person. Love you to the moon and back and cannot wait to continue our Happily Ever After!

When we first connected on Bumble, Sammi asked me about my tastes in Disney. I must have picked well when I said The Lion King was my favorite, because within 3 minutes she texted me back, “So when are we meeting?”. Sammi was nervous on our first date and so was I, especially when I saw how cute she looked. I was a total motormouth, but then after a brief round of Jewish geography and a close round of Skiball, our goofy and competitive sides came out. Sammi was focused on beating me at Skiball and Jenga, but I was trying to tease her and be a total flirt. Somehow in the process of trying to make her laugh, I ended up on the wrong side of a bunch of Jenga blocks and gave myself a bloody nose! We laughed it off as our spontaneous first date began to feel like we had known eachother for years. The night was magical and sealed with a kiss! I appreciated that Sammi laughed at my dumb dad jokes and loved that we were both movie aficionados. But once I discovered she had seen every movie in the Marvel Universe, I knew I had found the right girl. I was ecstatic to find that the cute girl I met at an arcade bar that night became my loving and supportive partner of the past four years. I am grateful we both braved the cold to meet each other on that January night! I’ve truly met the love of my life!
