In 2021, Samm and Jonah met as skydiver and skydive pilot in Davis, California. What began as a group hangout on April 14th between Jonah, Samm and a friend, ended as a date when the friend cancelled. A spark grew brighter as Samm and Jonah enjoyed breweries, poke bowls, and pad thai. It wasn’t all easy, Samm had two large dogs that sometimes lived in Jonah’s hot van and Jonah worked every weekend that Samm had off. Scraps of time were precious, and every moment was savored from terminal velocity to picking canned soup. A year later on July 4th, Samm had a hard landing and rolled back from the hospital with a broken ankle. Jonah took the opportunity to escape the hot van and monitor the recovery from her air-conditioned apartment. From apartment to rental house, rental house to home ownership they lived together. They both skydived again and grew their relationship and their careers. From skydiving to grocery shopping, from the thrilling to mundane every moment their love continues to grow.
