Our story began in 2008 when we first met as middle schoolers during a family game night at the Mosque. We both thought the other was cute, sharing shy glances and smiles throughout the night. The only time we spoke was when he asked, “Are you going to dance?” I smiled and nervously said, "No, I’m okay." Over time, our mothers became close friends, and as our families spent more time together, so did we. For over eight years, we celebrated birthdays, and graduations, and spent family gatherings and trips together as friends. During that time, we got to know each other deeply, and although we developed strong feelings, we chose to keep them hidden for various reasons. Eventually, those reasons led us to stop communicating for about a year. However, when we reconnected, we both realized that life simply wasn’t the same without each other. And now, seven years later, here we are, ready to spend the rest of our lives together
