FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Beach formal. Sundresses, light colors, linen. We want everyone to be comfortable, keep in mind we will be outside.

Question

What time should we arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 5:00pm. We'd advise everyone start making their way to their seats 15-20 minutes before.

Question

How long do we have to RSVP?

Answer

We need your RSVP by March 13, 2020. It is extremely important so that we have a final count to submit for the catering team. If you don't RSVP then we don't know you are coming and will not order a plate for you. Keep in mind the sooner the better. If you cannot make it please let us know as soon as possible, we can accommodate plus one requests better this way. Thank you! Please use the RSVP link located on the website.

Question

Will parking be available?

Answer

Yes, if you are staying at the hotel or just driving over to attend the wedding there is valet available. We will add the daily rate soon. There are also parking decks in the area, keep in mind if you use the deck to save money you will have to walk a bit to reach the hotel. Please let us know if you plan on driving or renting a vehicle and need further details.

Question

Can I bring someone?

Answer

In order to keep our guest list on track we are only able to accommodate those who were formally invited on your wedding invitation. Please contact us if you have further questions. As people RSVP we may be able to accommodate a few plus ones but we need proper notice. Thanks in advance. *Note - when you RSVP you will be able to do so for your whole family. Only the people on the RSVP have invites. Some family members may receive separate invites if their address is different so they will type their own name into the RSVP link.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We love the kids. But for space and budget purposes we just cannot accommodate everyone's children and to be fair we do not want to single anyone out and only invite certain children. That being said we made a decision to have a child-free wedding. If you still want to bring your child(ren) along please make sure you arrange proper accommodations for the time of the ceremony and reception. There are sitter services available if multiple guests would like to bring kids. Just ask me about them so I can provide more info!

Question

Is there a room block?

Answer

Yes there is! We have reserved rooms at our hotel for guests and are looking to create another block nearby so there are options. Please check back in for those options. In the meantime here is the link for The National Hotel room block: https://be.synxis.com/?adult=1&arrive=2020-04-21&chain=17510&child=0&configcode=initialConfig&currency=USD&depart=2020-04-29&hotel=63781&level=hotel&locale=en-US&nocache=true&rooms=1&sbe_ri=0&themecode=initialTheme&group=042420TH

Question

Where do we direct our questions?

Answer

Please feel free to call/text either me or Rico. You can also send an email to samirahthomas@gmail.com or rjmckee@valdosta.edu. Make sure you check back often for updates made to the website.

Question

What are the menu options?

Answer

There is a chicken and fish option. The chicken option is an achiote chicken paillard w/ mango relish. The fish is a jerked mahi w/ pineapple rum relish. Both dishes will be served with roasted red potatoes and spicy green beans. Let us know if there are any allergies or special dietary needs. Shellfish will be served during cocktail hour.
