They met through match.com. Samii was the first person to message, despite his strange velvet blazer and goofy double thumbs up pose in his profile picture. They found out they lived in the same suburb city of LA and decided to meet up at a local dive bar. Samii, of course being as lovely as she is, was late, so late that Dave almost left. But counting down to the final seconds, she magically appeared. Samii was so nervous when she saw that cowboy boot wearing, t-shirt, jeans, baseball cap guy... that she went straight to the bar to get a strong drink first. After taking a drink, she approached him. A few hours of chatting went by and they never got up from the table to get another drink. It was a work night... Dave walked her out toward her car without crossing that creeper line. He insisted she text him when she got home safely. She did :).

Dave lined up an evening of firsts for the two of them. Starting with a coincidental quick stop at the dive bar they first met... he said, "the restaurant doesn't open until 5, I thought it opened sooner - want to stop by and grab a drink beforehand?". She agreed, thought nothing of it. Headed to get food at this quaint Thai place that they both loved (this was the first restaurant they ate at in Pasadena). Then, Dave added at the end of dinner, "so I thought we could go bowling since it's still early and we haven't gone in months". She of course agreed, knowing she's horrible at bowling but would have a lot of fun playing. Bowling was the activity Dave planned on their first real date (post bar meet up). After bowling... on the drive home, Dave said, "I have a surprise for you, but you have to close your eyes". Samii agreed... and when they arrived the driveway was filled with candles, rose petals and string lights hanging above. Dave walked Samii to the porch steps and said, this is where we had our first kiss. And then said, "I know your family and friends are important to you... so I invited a few of them to be here tonight". Out of the side of the house, a handful of people appeared holding cell phones (later to find they were FaceTiming parents). Dave got down on one knee...and Samii said yes!
