It was more than ten years ago, at a party on the upper west side of Manhattan. At this point, Samia usually played video games at home rather than going out, but tonight was special because her dear friends from Theater West 97 would all be together again, and she had known most of them since she was twelve. Everyone was having a good time and dancing, but one of TW97’s core members, Dexter, was still missing. Unlike most of the crew, Dexter was doing theater in college too, and tech rehearsal had run impossibly late. Ever the type to rally though, he was determined to see the night through, and he asked his best friend if he wanted to come to the party too. The friend—Arsenio—said yes.
