Question

When should I travel to the Big Easy?

Answer

We love our new city and want you to love it, too! This year, NYE (our wedding date) falls on a Tuesday. We will host a welcome dinner on Monday, 12/30/19, as well as a brunch the morning after, 1/1/20. If you want some extra time in the city, we recommend spending the weekend prior to the wedding (Friday, 12/27/19, Saturday, 12/28/19, Sunday, 12/29/19) in town to explore and who knows, maybe we will schedule a swamp tour...

Question

What is the weather going to be like?

Answer

Weather in New Orleans has proven to be very unpredictable! It will be on the colder side, most likely in the high 50s/low 60s, and it is always wise to be prepared for rain. Our venue is indoors, but we recommend bringing something to keep you warm just in case.

Question

What should I do when I am in town?

Answer

Please take a look at some of our favorite restaurants, bars, shops, and sites on the "things to do" page. And of course, feel free to reach out for any more specific recommendations.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love all of your kids! However, we would prefer to keep the wedding to adults only, but all kids are invited to the welcome dinner and post-wedding brunch. We have a handful of local, trustworthy babysitters that we would love to set you up with so that you can enjoy our wedding and stay up late for NYE. If that isn't possible, we don't want it to deter you from attending! Just let us know in advance so we can find the best solution.

Question

How can I arrange for a babysitter?

Answer

We have been recommended a babysitting service called Merry Pop-Ins (www.merrypopinsnola.com), which is a network of babysitters, all of whom are CPR and first aid certified.

Question

I have allergies and/or food restrictions, what should I do?

Answer

Please let us know and we will communicate this to our caterers. We will be having a family-style dinner so there will be multiple options to choose from.

Question

Does the venue have an elevator?

Answer

Etoile Polaire Lodge No. 1 was built in the 1840s, so unfortunately, it does not have an elevator. The ceremony will take place on the second floor, with the reception on the ground floor.
