Love, Laughter, and Happily Ever After

A mutual friend introduced the two of us due to our shared interests. Although initially hesitant, both of us very quickly hit it off and became extremely close in a matter of months. We both quickly developed feelings but kept it to ourselves to "preserve the friendship". Clearly that didn't work out!

After finding the perfect opal ring after months of secretly shopping, Sam was looking for a way to propose while the ring stayed hidden in our apartment. After trying to think up some fun or unique ideas, Sam ran across a live show for one of our favorite podcasts, And That's Why We Drink. On a whim and a slight bit of hope, Sam reached out via email to see if there was any way the podcast hosts would help her propose to Brittany. And Surprise! They were just as excited to help propose as Sam was to do it! Brittany thought of the small getaway as surprise trip to San Francisco to see the show, only given about a 3 weeks notice before the trip. She had no idea Sam was going to propose, even going so far as to promise Sam could play the song 'Cotton Eyed Joe' if she proposed within 9 months. This was earlier in the day of February 7th. When the podcast's show was coming to an end, Brittany was chosen as a 'random guest' from the audience to participate in a magic trick. Meanwhile, Sam snuck around to the backstage area while Brittany was blind folded on stage. One pretend magic trick later, Sam was on one knee proposing to Brittany with two of their favorite people helping along the way. She said yes! (Or else we wouldn't be on this website now, right?)
