Samantha’s Perspective: I planned for myself, Anna Grace and Chyna to go to the lake for a girls' trip. Anna Grace was swooning over her boyfriend (now fiancé) at the time and invited him on the girl's trip. I was excited to meet Connor, as Anna Grace was telling me great things. Chyna suggests to Anna that Connor invite a friend for her to meet, and suddenly this is no longer a girl's trip. I was annoyed. After starting my first job, I just wanted to spend time with my girls. The day comes and the boys are late. I am already irritated and just trying to enjoy my day off. Finally, they arrive at the lake, and Chyna goes up to them to tell them where to park while Anna Grace and I wait in the car. When Chyna returned, Anna Grace and I asked “Was Connor’s friend cute????” Chyna responded: “He’s alright” and we responded “Oh no”. Finally, they got out of the car. Connor comes up to us and introduces himself and then the man goes “Hi, I am David”. And he was the most handsome man I have ever seen. After meeting and lots of laughs, nothing came from that. No numbers were exchanged and we went our separate ways.. at least we thought.

Samantha had gone on one of the worst dates in her life on June 29, 2021. When she told Anna Grace about it the following day, Anna's eyes lit up and she said "Now we can tell David to take you on a date!" Samantha told Anna no, that she didn't want David to think he was a second choice. Samantha had thought about asking David on a date when they first met, but never did. Later that day, Connor (Anna's boyfriend, now fiance) called David and told him to bring Samantha to a 4th of July gathering. Sure enough, David told Connor "Dude, I feel like a second choice. But okay, I will invite her". On July 2, 2021, David picked Samantha up from her apartment to go to the gathering. Samantha carried David through a round of cornhole, got frozen yogurt, and spent the entire evening talking until midnight. To this day, Samantha still thinks about how cute David was when he opened the truck door and held her hand to get in.

At the 4th of July party, Anna had convinced Connor for the four of us to go get frozen yogurt. Upon arriving, Samantha created her ice cream and began paying for herself. David immediately said across the store "Hey! I was going to pay for you." Samantha responded, "You can pay for my meal when you take me on a date next week."

David planned a fancy dinner date for Samantha. He showed up to her apartment with flowers and a gift ( A pillow pet she wanted so badly). After dinner, he went to watch a movie with her in her apartment and proceeded to fall asleep on the couch. He woke up startled and said, "I forgot to ask you... Would you like to be my girlfriend?". Samantha said "Yes. Now go back to sleep" and so he did.
