Hi, this is Zak! Sam was in charge of the wedding website, but she put me in charge of writing our story. If you know us as a couple, you probably realized Sam has made a huge mistake. To start our story, Sam was a small-town girl, living in a lonely world. I was a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit. We met on a midnight train going anywhere... We actually met at our friend, Jeff's, house. Sam had only recently moved to Chicago and was looking for a night out one random May night. She texted her sorority sister, Michele, to get her out of her studio apartment. I was honestly trying not to go out that night but champed up to make it out. Once we had met, we really hit it off and even went out on a few dates after that night. But the pull of summer in Chicago had us call it off after three dates. Funny enough, we would run into each other a couple of times that summer and continued to hit it off. Sam was hoping we would see each other a few more times and would always wonder if she would run into me at the Whole Foods by my apartment. She referred to it as casually running into each other, I think it's called stalking (but in a cute way...obviously! I am marrying her). It was actually at Sam's 27th birthday that we officially rekindled our relationship. Our friend, Michele, who had originally introduced us, literally grabbed us both by the hand and told us "stop being dumb, you are clearly into each other!" She was obviously right. We made plans to hang out the next day and the rest is history.
