Seth and Sam first became aware of each other through their involvement at their church, Red Rocks Austin. Seth served on the worship team, while Sam volunteered in the kids ministry. Seth initially caught Sam’s attention while he was on stage playing keys. Sam did some subtle investigating by asking mutual friends (Em and Kenz) about him. Sam didn’t act on it right away, letting things unfold in their own time. Eventually, with a little push from Hannah, Sam went into the church volunteer room during a training, knowing Seth would be there. Though Seth and Sam had exchanged only a few words in a group setting (depending on who you ask). What happened next changed everything.. Later that evening, Sam and her roommate Heather were scrolling through Instagram when a meme popped up that immediately reminded Sam of Seth. Seeing it as the perfect opportunity to shoot her shot, Sam and Heather carefully plotted her message. After several drafts, Sam finally hit send. As she anxiously waited for a reply, she had no idea that Seth was on the other side of the screen, sitting with the message open and trying to find the right words to respond. Seth knew it was finally his time to shine. What started as playful bickering quickly turned into long DM conversations, until Sam used her phone’s screen-time limit as the perfect excuse to give him her number. After 15 minutes of debating whether to call, Seth went for it and asked her out for coffee. Ten minutes into the date, he promptly spilled half his latte on himself and assumed it was all over. Somehow, it wasn’t. After several 6+ hour dates, Seth asked Sam to be his girlfriend and the rest is history.
