Both have good options for connections to Siena by train or car. • Rome often has more flights, making it a convenient choice with many airlines offering one-stop or nonstop options from your departure cities. • Florence is closer to Siena, potentially cutting down your total travel time, but arrival will require a layover. Train: Please see the full details below Alternative: Car Rental: If you prefer flexibility, you can rent a car at either Rome or Florence airport. Driving takes roughly 2.5 hours from Rome or 1.5 hours from Florence. Bus: From Florence, there is also a direct bus to Siena, which takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes and can be a comfortable and affordable option.

From Rome to Siena: • First transfer by car or train from Fiumicino Airport to Roma Termini, Rome's Main Train Terminal located approximately 30 mins from FCO. Take a train from Roma Termini station to Siena. The journey takes around 3 hours and 30 minutes with one transfer in a neighboring city. From Florence to Siena: • There are direct trains from Firenze Santa Maria Novella to Siena, taking about 1.5 hours.
