What does “Formal Attire” mean for this wedding?

Answer

Formal attire means suits for men and formal dresses for women. Think elevated, classic, and well put-together—appropriate for an early evening ceremony.

Are jeans, khakis, or polos allowed?

Answer

No. We kindly ask that guests do not wear jeans, khakis, polos, or casual tops of any kind.

Are short or revealing dresses appropriate?

Answer

We ask that dresses remain formal and tasteful. Very short, overly tight, or revealing dresses are discouraged.

Can guest wear white or ivory?

Answer

No. We kindly request that guest do not wear white, ivory, cream, or any shade that could resemble the bride’s attire.

Are cocktail dresses acceptable?

Yes, as long as they are formal in style and length, and not overly casual or revealing.

Can men wear sport coats without dress pants?

We ask that gentlemen wear full suits to maintain a cohesive and formal look.

Is the wedding child-friendly?

While we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration. We respectfully request no children attend.

Are phones allowed during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that all phones and cameras be put away during the ceremony so everyone can be fully present and enjoy the moment with us. Professional photos and videos will be captured and shared afterward, so you’ll still have plenty of memories to look back on. We welcome photos during the cocktail hour and reception and appreciate your understanding and respect during the ceremony.
