Believe it or not, we might just be the last couple who can say, “We met on Facebook.” (Yes, really!) It all began at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where Phill was in his final year of medical school and Sam was wrapping up her PA training. Somewhere between rival coffee shop orders and clinical rotations, our paths crossed, virtually first, then very quickly in real life. Then came 2020. The world hit pause, and so did our hectic schedules. In the stillness of lockdown, we found something incredibly rare, time. Time to cook, time to laugh, time to really know each other. That strange season gave us the space to build something real, and it turns out a global pandemic is a surprisingly effective way to test relationship compatibility. Fast forward through a lot of takeout, shared playlists, and one very lovable dog later, we landed in Houston, Texas. What we thought would be just the next stop in our medical journeys became something so much more. We grew to love each other, and Texas, more than we ever could have imagined. Along the way, we learned that we are each other's home, no matter where life takes us, and that made it easy to fall in love with everything our adventures had to offer. Eventually, the road led us to New York for Phill’s next chapter of clinical training, or as we lovingly call it, his 22nd grade. The scenery changed, but the adventure continued. And now, here we are, inviting you to celebrate the next chapter of this wonderfully unexpected, pandemic-proof love story.
