Samantha’s best friend at the time begged her to go to Kernville, California for the night. Super reluctant, Samantha said “Okay I will go”. Her friend talked about this cute guy that would be there the entire drive up the mountain. Samantha again reluctant, rolled her eyes and said “I’ll have to see for myself.” Samantha and her friend pulled up to the cabin and Nathan is there, back towards the patio. He turns around, puts his hand out for a handshake, smiles and says “Hey I’m Nate”. Which Samantha responds “I’m Samantha”. That’s was that. Samantha and her friend rush into the kitchen. Her friend goes “Isn’t he cute?” And Samantha says “Yeah he’s cute!” The night continues and we all do some drinking and decide to go to a late night bar. We were the only people under the age of 50. As the night continues Nathan starts to make small advances at Samantha. Nathan decides he doesn’t like Samantha’s ballerina bun, reaches over to take down Samantha’s hair and it falls to her shoulders. He puts the scrunchie in his pocket and says “I like it better that way”with a smirk. Samantha then proceeds to say “Who the F ARE YOU!” But may or not have liked it. We all leave the bar and walk back to the cabin together. Samantha reaches over to hold Nathan’s hand and that was the beginning. Time went on, Nathan went back to Arizona and Samantha to California. COVID hit in early 2020 and Nathan came to visit Samantha in California for the first time in March. That was the start of a 5 year long distance relationship!
