It all started randomly on Lake DuBay. A mutual friend happened to bring Nate along boating that day and Sam was already on the boat with other friends. They sat next to each other on the boat, but didn’t talk much at first. It all started at the sandbar with a “hey, can I try your black cherry white claw?” and everything clicked from there. They realized they had the same taste in music and spent the rest of the day having drinks together. The next morning already, Nate asked Sam on a lunch date and knew she was the one.

During Sam’s favorite holiday event, cutting a Christmas tree, Nate popped the question. Sam picked out the tree and Nate knelt down to begin cutting it. Sam backed up out of the way for the tree to fall, but Nate kept calling her closer to the tree to “check it out”. Little did she know, he would propose. Nate asked Sam if he could cut their tree that year with her as his fiancé, and she of course said yes! It was snowy and beautiful, with their friends and family present.
