Hiking Suggestions

SC

Upstate South Carolina has a ton of hiking nearby. Here are some of Sam's suggestions from growing up and hiking the area: Yellow Branch Falls, Table Rock State Park (the summit is very difficult and not a light undertaking), Pisgah National Forest, Cedar Falls Park Trail, DuPont State Recreational Forest (part of the Hunger Games was filmed here!), Rainbow Falls or Jones Gap Loop at Jones Gap State Park, and Caesar's Falls Overlook.

Greenville

Greenville, SC

Downtown Greenville is about a 45-minute drive from Spartanburg, with a lot more to offer than Spartanburg. Right downtown, you can walk along the Reedy River at Falls Park and throughout many local, unique shops (try Mast General Store). The Swamp Rabbit Trail extends 28 miles with lots of space for running, walking, and biking. There are countless events throughout the summer and many great restaurants to try, like Maple Street Biscuit Company or Nose Dive!
