After 9 years of dating, Leah finally asked Sam to marry her and she couldn't even say "yes" she said "duh". On a rainy day in December, 80+ friends and family helped Leah ask the big question in a flash mob proposal. Sam and Leah met on February 14, 2006 at soccer tryouts. The first thing that Sam said to Leah was that as a freshman it was her duty to carry the ball bag, this was before knowing that Leah was soon to be the star soccer player of the team. Despite their difference in soccer skills, they instantly became best friends and from there a deeper connection started to bloom. Most of their friends knew that they were more than just "best friends" way before they ever realized it for themselves. Leah and Sam officially started dating in 2009 while Sam was attending UNC and Leah at UNCW. After college, Sam and Leah eventually bought a house together in Wilmington. To add to their small family, they adopted a quirky dog named Barley, rescued a stray kitten named Hops, and just recently added a puppy to the mix named IPA (Indie.) They love their life together and look forward to becoming a married couple.
