It all began at Mizzou during syllabus week in January 2019. We met the first weekend of the new semester and immediately hit it off — the kind of instant connection that just felt right. A few weeks later, we went on our first date at Medici's pizza in Columbia, MO —a perfect night out that turned into the start of something really special. During our time at Mizzou, we would often try new restaurants, hang out with friends, and we spent many nights watching playoff hockey games leading up to the Blues winning the Stanley Cup that year. After graduation, life led both of us back to our roots in St. Louis — where we built a life together filled with love, family, and our favorite hometown traditions. On September 29, 2024, after brunch with friends at the Ritz Carlton in Clayton, Kurt got down on one knee and proposed in Shaw Park. It was a perfect moment in a place close to home, surrounded by people we love. It was the easiest “yes” ever. Now, we can’t wait to start the next chapter of our story surrounded by all the people we love most.
