My cousin, who happens to be one of Samantha’s friend, wanted a weekend getaway out of the city. I offered to pick her up and while on our way to Connecticut she decided to call one of the girlfriends, Samantha, to invite her to come with us. At first, I thought, “she would never agree to this impromptu trip,” but to my surprise, in no time we were parked right outside her house in the Bronx, waiting for her to come outside. I don’t remember what she was wearing but her adorable, bright smile was the first thing that caught my eyes. She came into the car, greeted us and never said anything else for the rest of the ride. I remember catching myself steering at her through my rear-view mirror wondering why is such a quiet girl friends with my cousin. I could not piece it together. That night we went to a club. She kept to herself and only interacted with my cousin. But I was determined to find out more about this mysterious woman, so I asked her to dance, thinking she would decline. To my surprise, she accepted the offer and we ended up having a blast. We met up a few more times afterwards and that’s pretty much when we thought, “Okay. This could be something.” - Kevin

It was a day like any other, we had just spent the week enjoying our fun filled family vacation to Toronto Canada and now it was time to return home. While on our way back to Connecticut, Kevin suggested that we stop at Niagara Falls and enjoy the attractions there. After spending the day going to the wax museum, enjoying the 6D roller coaster, and touring around Niagara Falls, we decided to end our day with a ride on the Niagara SkyWheel. While at the top of the SkyWheel with the view of Niagara Falls around us, Kevin made an ordinary family day into one I will never forget. So on a warm summer day on July 2, 2019, Kevin Blackwood asked me to be his wife. -Sam
