Our recommendation would be ASAP for the cruise stateroom, to get a deposit down (10%) to secure a room and price. Rooms will go up in price over time. The rest of your room cost is not due until 90 days before sailing. Disney has a very flexible deposit and cancellation policy. A 10% deposit is required when you book. You can get a full refund if you cancel 90 days before. You lose your deposit if you cancel 45 days before. The refund amount reduces from there.
Up to you if you want to book through Disney or a travel agent. Some travel agents can get you onboard credit (average is $100) by booking *initially* through them. And can also really help with requests through the booking process, questions along the way, help with check in, and looking for discounts for you if they get added. 1. Our Travel Agent (Our recommendation): We work with Be Our Guest Vacations, specifically with Jamie Morgan. Her contact info is: jamie@beourguestvacations or 855-994-8378, ext 141. Just let her know Samantha and Kevin referred you for their wedding and she’ll help you out! 2. Disney: If you want to book direct, it’s probably easiest to book through our wedding event site so make sure you’re linked up with our reservation: https://disneyevent.com/scottlittle-wedding 3. Any other travel agent!
It’s really up to your preference and budget! We love the Verandah (balcony) rooms so we can get coffee and fruit sent to the room (for free) and watch the sunrise from the balcony. But the ocean view and inside staterooms are also great options and can save you some $$$
GTY (guaranteed) rooms are offered for oceanview and verandah staterooms. They are limited in amount but are the cheapest option for that stateroom category. With this option your specific room is picked for you by Disney roughly 1-3 weeks before sailing. You are guaranteed the room type, but can be put on any floor and any part of the ship (forward, mid, or aft). You may be put in a room with obstructions, or you may end up getting a family sized room. So it can be a bit of a gamble. We did this room type for our first Disney cruise and ended up saving about $1,000 so we were really lucky and didn’t mind any room we got as long as it had a balcony.
We are staying deck 7. So if you’d like to be near, deck 6 thru 8 will be close by.
You could spend nothing or you could spend thousands… You can have an amazing cruise without spending anything. Water, soft drinks, coffee, and tea are free and always available on deck 11 and at meals. Towels are free. Entertainment is free. Meals are free. Room service is free (minus soda cans and alcohol). Oh and soft serve ice cream is free! There are some speciality locations that have offerings at a cost: speciality coffee shops, the speciality ice cream shop on the ship, and bars. There’s also spas, hair salons, etc. and of course the souvenir stores.
Besides the wedding, dress as comfy as you want! But make sure it’s PC since it is Disney. It will be August so it’ll likely be very warm, humid, and potentially rainy. So keep an eye out on the forecast. We went to breakfast at Marceline Market wearing running clothes one morning, and we saw a bunch of people wearing PJs still! Some people dress nicer and dinner and others stay in their day clothes.
Yes! Disney offers a few kids clubs based on age range. Ages 6 months to 3 years: It’s a Small World Nursery. This requires advanced reservation and costs $10 an hour. But allows a way to have your little ones to be cared for. Ages 3 to 10: Oceaneer Club. No reservation needed and no cost. Your child just needs to be potty trained. You check in your child and Disney will reach out if your kid wants to be picked up earlier. Ages 11 to 14: Edge. Same as Oceaneer Club, just more aimed at tweens. Ages 14-17: Vibe. Also same as Oceaneer Club and Edge, but geared towards high schoolers.
As long as we get your reservation number by the first week of June, we could have a group of tables at the seating. We figure no one has to stay at the same seat each dinner to allow for people to move around and get to hang out with different people if interested
1. Download the DCL Navigator app and link your reservation. This will give you an idea of the itinerary before getting on the ship. And 75 days before sailing onboard and port excursions will become available to book for those interested. 2. Download WhatsApp to keep in touch with those on the ship and at home with the ships wifi without additional cost 3. Figure out how “on/off network” you want to be. The ship has different wifi options available if you need to stay online. Or you can get intentional plans with your phone carrier. Sam put her phone in airplane mode the moment we set sail to avoid any fees. 4. Passports! You don’t absolutely have to have a passport. But if there is an emergency while at sea, there are some constraints if you don’t have a passport. So if you’re able to get one, it’s easier. 5. Call Disney or reach out to travel advisor with any questions! Flights, transportation, dietary needs, toddler needs (like pack and play and diaper gene can be sent to room for free), etc.
No. We have more than enough already and are currently in the process of getting rid of a lot of excess stuff we have. Also, the cost to our guests celebrating with us is already high enough, so we don’t want to ask more of anyone.
