So here is the story on how we finally got engaged. Justin asked me if I wanted to go to The Boardwalk in Bossier City, La to celebrate my birthday early. I was getting off at a decent time on a Saturday for the first time in I don’t even know how long. (I almsot told him “no, lets just stay home and relax.”) We get there and decide to go eat dinner first. As we are waiting for our food, he points out that I stopped wearing rings very often, while he spun the one I was wearing on my right hand. I didn’t think too much of what he said, even though it was random. Shortly after he informs me that he would like to go look at the river after we are done eating. I, again, didn’t think too much of it, since it is sort of a tradition we have for every time we go there. Right before we are about to leave, I get a call from my coworker. There was an issue at work that I needed to help her with. I figured while I am on the phone, we could go look at the river real quick and then head to the Casinos. After standing by the river for a few minutes and even though I am still on the phone, I suggested we walk around for a bit until I am done. He said “no, lets stay here.” So we stayed there a little longer. A little while passes and I realize I have to use the restroom. I try and get him to walk around again so I can locate the restroom. He refuses to leave the river. Then something clicked in my brain. I started to think back to our conversations while at dinner. Everything started to make sense. Why he wanted to come here, why he was talking about rings, why he wouldn’t leave the river. At this point I am starting to internally freak out, suspecting what he was trying to do. (I should let everyone know I am not a fan of public proposals.) I wasn’t fully sure what was about to happen, but I had a good idea. I tell him I have to use the restroom this way we can leave the public area we were in. As we are walking I get off the phone.
