After initially meeting online in early August, Samantha and Jayson met in person on August 23rd, 2015 in Maryville, MO. Samantha was already in Northern MO following a concert and drove to NWMSU where Jayson was attending school. They went to a local Chinese restaurant and ended up spending a long time there, talking about life and everything in between!

Jayson made a trip home from college to take Samantha out on the date made the rest history! We went to the Country Club Plaza in KC, starting at Pot Belly. We walked, talked, got coffee, read children's books in Barnes and Noble, and even saw a movie (Burnt, 4/10). Before parting ways, he gave Samantha his favorite Alabama hoodie- a bold move! But to this day, she wears it and reminisces. The very next weekend, Jayson came back home from school again and their relationship officially began!

After moving to California together in the midst of COVID, Jayson proposed at San Luis Reservoir, and of course, she said yes! We had driven past the reservoir a few times on other road trips and always marveled at its beauty, so the choice to propose there was an easy one. Sitting on the rocks looking out on the water, he said "will you be my forever?"... Stay tuned to see what our forever holds!
