The Borgata- In the casino itself there are many dining and drinking options, including a more affordable food court area. There is an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a beer garden, and a spa! The Borgata is towards the back of the island and not on the beach. Other casinos- If you are looking to explore other casinos, we recommend The Oceans and The Hard Rock. The Oceans is on the newer side and The Hard Rock was recently renovated; both are absolutely gorgeous! You could stay at either of these places, although they are a bit on the pricier side. They are located right next to each other on the boardwalk. The Boardwalk & Beach- The boardwalk, which runs along the beach, is home to many casinos, beach shops, and restaurants. LandShark Bar and Grill is a fun beach bar and they usually have live music. The beach in A.C is free (most jersey beaches require beach tags). Warning: nighttime on the boardwalk can get somewhat ~sketchy~ so just be careful!
Sammy's favorite Jersey beach town! It has tons of family friendly activities such as the following: - The Boardwalk- 10x better than the A.C boardwalk. There is so many cute surf shops, restaurants, t-shirt shops, mini golf courses, an amusement park, and many other family fun activities. If you are on the boards, you need to have a slice of Ocean City's famous Manco and Manco pizza. Some other O.C boardwalk staples are The Fudge Kitchen, Kohr's Brothers Ice Cream, Shriver's Saltwater Taffy, and Johnson's Carmel Popcorn. - Playlands Castaway Cove- the famous amusement park on the O.C boards. -Asbury Avenue- a cute strip of boutique stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and more. Sammy's favorite place to shop is Ta-Dah, Jakes favorite place to eat is Yianni's Cafe! Food rec's: Breakfast- O.C Coffee House, Hooked on Breakfast, Yianni's, Uncle Bill's Pancake House, Browns (the BEST donuts), SandHouse Kitchen, Dockside Lunch/Dinner- Piccini, Jon and Patty's, Sac'O'Subs
This is another beach town that is on the same island as Atlantic City. Margate has more of a beach town feel to it rather than A.C. The beaches in Margate are definitely nicer than A.C, but they do charge for beach tags. Margate is home to many yummy restaurants and fun bars! Margate is a good option if you wanted to get out of AC for the night on Friday and do dinner. It is only a 10–15-minute drive from The Borgata. Some restaurant recommendations include- Steve and Cookies by the Bay, Tomatoes', Sofia Restaurant, Johnny's Cafe and Bar, and Ventura's Greenhouse (the locals favorite beach bar).
About a 45-minute drive from Atlantic City... but totally worth it!! This is where Sammy's family vacations each summer now, and also where Jake proposed. It is the most charming beach town filled with the best restaurants and amazing older homes and gardens. If you were thinking of extending your trip, we HIGHLY recommend visiting Cape May. You could even do a day trip down here on Friday or Saturday before the wedding. Here are some of our rec's: -Visiting Congress Hall and having drinks on the front lawn -Exploring Washington Street Mall- cute little strip of stores and restaurants -Drinks on the front porch of The Virgina -Visiting Willow Creek Winery- this is where Jake popped the question! Great for a rainy day or a pre-dinner drink. -Walking or renting bikes and exploring the charm and history of the town -Food rec's: Grana BYOB (romantic Italian spot & yes it is a byob), Primal (the best steak), Taco Caballito (a more casual taco joint), and The Washington Inn (a classic)
