We have decided to postpone our reception celebration due to the current circumstances related to COVID-19. We will still be getting married in Aptos on October 3rd, 2020 with our immediate family and the wedding party. We would still like to celebrate with all of our intended guests, when it is safe and healthy to do so. As we learn more and develop a plan for a larger celebration, we will continue to update everyone here.
Throughout elementary school, Sam and Jack crossed paths on the play ground of Burton Valley Elementary, on the Little League baseball fields, and even on Walnut Lane. They were in the same fourth grade class, but still very much in their own worlds. They floated in and out of the same group of friends throughout middle school and the early years at Campolindo. Finally, fate stepped in when they ended up with five of six classes together their junior year of high school. Long nights of comparing AP history notes inevitably led to them becoming a bit more than friends that year. Sam accompanied Jack to both Junior Prom and Senior Ball. When it came time to move on to college, they went separate ways but survived the "long distance", Jack to Cal Poly SLO and Sam to UCSB. Just a short 90 minutes apart, they visited back and forth for the four years. After adventuring through Europe post graduation, Jack and Sam moved into their first apartment together in San Francisco. They lived together for almost 2 years, before Jack proposed on the beach in Santa Cruz on the third of July. Surrounded by family and friends, they were able to celebrate in their favorite place in the world. It's safe to say there were plenty of fireworks that weekend. They continue to live happily in San Francisco- Jack working for a general contractor, McCarthy Building Co., as a project engineer on a parking garage project in Sunnyvale, and Sam is a Special Education teacher at Grattan Elementary School. They cannot wait to spend the weekend celebrating at the beach with their closest friends and family.
