The wedding will take place at The Cape Club in Falmouth, Massachusetts on July 21`, 2018. It is a Saturday evening.
There are lots of hotels, motels and rentals that are available during this time. Since it is a popular tourist destination, please make your accommodation plans as far in advance as possible. Please see "Nearby Hotels" for a list of suggestions. I did not "block" any hotel rooms because the ones that are close to the venue didn't offer much in the way of discounts - since it is the hight of tourist season. Make sure to ask about double queen rooms and suites. When making plans, try and stay between Falmouth and Yarmouth. Any further out of those areas and traveling will be cumbersome.
The wedding and reception will be business casual/cocktail attire. For the rest of your stay, I would recommend various types of clothing that you can layer. While Cape Cod is usually warm at the end of July, it is on the water and nights can get cool. I would suggest a light jacket and/or sweater (sweatshirt, hoodie) and a pair of jeans or two for the more casual events. I would also suggest a pair of closed-toe shoes (sneakers, etc.) as well as sandals or flip-flops. There are plenty of places to buy something if you forget an item or two.
Most invitations have allowed for a "plus one" if I've been notified before sending out the invitations. If yours has not specified and you'd like to bring a friend or a date, please feel free to ask. My general feeling is, "the more the merrier" and Hiram and I would like you to feel comfortable. Please remember though, for these events, guest count is crucial. Please RSVP for your friend/date if you are positive they will be joining you.
Yes if you plan to be in the area for a few days. Public transportation is available but it is not reliable, nor does it reach all destinations. Uber is available in this area, but I would only suggest it for short distances.
Yes. Please allow plenty of travel time to allow for traffic. Most of the roads on Cape Cod are not direct routes and the side roads are long and windy.
Yes. Hiram and I will be celebrating together as one large group on the evening of Thursday July 19, 2018. Friday will be a day to (recover) and get everything together to bring to the venue on Saturday morning. I don't know what the bridal party will have planned but you are all welcome to whoop it up with us!
I don't know. Ask my mom.
