When is check-in and check-out?

Answer

Each guest will receive a pick-up time from Florence airport. When arriving at the castle, you will be checked in. Please note rooms are not available until 4 pm. Check in: July 28th,2025 Check out: July 31st, 2025 Transportation will be provided for all guests to and from the Florence Airport.

What should I expect as lodging?

Answer

Ristonchi Castle is a rustic, 1,000 year old medieval castle surrounded by olive groves and a forest of chestnut trees and wild edibles. It's not a regular hotel, so their won't be daily cleanings, but all of the basics will be provided for you such as clean sheets, towels, pillows, blankets, toilet paper, soap and shampoo. The furnishings are typical Tuscan style, and some of the bathrooms are small and quirky, but that's the fun of staying in an old castle. When you wake up you know you’re in Tuscany!

When do I book my room?

Answer

Because of this unique space, guests will be assigned rooms per the bride and groom. We will do our best to accommodate everyone in a comfortable space. Please be mindful that there will be shared spaces and bathrooms depending on room placement.

Will I need to find my own way to the castle?

Answer

Absolutely not. It is encouraged to use the shuttles we have added to our guest package. Shuttles will be provided for each guest to and from the Florence Airport. Each guest will be given pick-up/drop off times as we get closer to July.

How can I travel to the Florence Airport?

Answer

The best airport to fly into is Rome or Milan. We suggest from there, taking a high speed train to get you to the Florence train station. From Florence train station, it is a 10 minute, 20 euro ride to the Florence Airport.

How long is the train from Rome to Florence?

Answer

Traveling by train from Rome to Florence is an easy and comfortable journey. The distance from Rome to Florence is 162 miles and many high-speed trains make the trip in just 1 hour and 29 minutes. Most trains leave Rome Termini station several times per hour for Florence Santa Maria Novella Station — averaging 61 trains per day. The earliest train to Florence leaves Rome Termini station at 5:35 a.m. The last train to Florence leaves Rome Termini at 9:30 p.m.

How long is the train from Milan to Florence?

Traveling by train from Milan to Florence is as easy and comfortable as it is scenic. Many high-speed trains make the 190-mile journey in just 1 hour and 40 minutes. High-speed trains leave Milano Centrale once or twice per hour for Florence's Santa Maria Novella station (often shortened to S.M. Novella) — averaging 60 trains per day. The earliest train leaves Milano Centrale at 5:00 a.m. The last train to Florence leaves Milano Centrale at 11:18 p.m.

We are planning a stay at Hotel Pendini in Florence from Saturday 7/25 to Tuesday 7/28 Expect a food filled time casually roaming around what is the groom's favorite city in Italy after having studied there two different summers

Formal Ladies: Long gowns or formal cocktail dresses (no maroon/red wine color) please be mindful dinner will be held on the grass Men: Dark color suits (Black/Navy/Charcoal) (no beige/tan)

There is NO air conditioning. The thick stone walls and fresh mountain breeze should keep you comfortable, or there is a fresh spring water pool that will definitely do the trick!

Will there be stores nearby to purchase things?

Answer

No, the castle is secluded so please bring everything special (like medication) you'll need for the weekend with you. There is a bar and small shop where you can buy coffee, drinks, ice cream and snacks during your stay.

There are no laundry facilities onsite. The staff will set up an ironing station for anyone needing to iron their clothes during their stay.

Valdisieve Hospital is the closest - about 18 mins away from Ristonchi
