Fresh out of a long relationship and with the encouragement of her sister, Bri, Sam downloaded Hinge looking to start dating for the first time in her adult life. She wasn't sure what to expect but she knew her future husband was out there waiting for her. With no women up to David's standards in the dating scene and the encouragement from his best friend, Jason, David downloaded Hinge with not too high of hopes in finding anybody he would actually see a future with. David and Sam matched in December 2022, they started chatting about music and not much else. Three weeks later and three weekends together, David took Sam out to a lookout in the hills of Newport and said, "So, are we dating or what?" to which Sam replied, "Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?" It was a yes. Six months into the relationship, Sam and David moved in together in a small apartment in Anaheim. With their new love solidifying and unlimited access to each other, Sam became pregnant with their baby boy, Elijah. Sam and David then proceeded to endure one of the hardest years of their life, losing David's little sister Steph, Sam graduating university freshly postpartum, bringing a new baby into their lives, and navigating David's mom's cancer coming back.
