Our Proposal Story

October 5, 2024

The story was, Connor said his mom had a friend that worked at a fancy restaurant in San Clemente, and she was able to get us in for a private tasting. I was super excited. I did not suspect anything. As we were on our way to San Clemente, Connor received a call from his mom. She said she was running late, so we had some time to kill. My first thought was, let’s go to a restaurant and get a drink before the tasting. Connor took me to the beach. I was instantly like “what are we doing here?!” Connor said he thought we could kill some time by walking on the beach. I was wearing a dress with knee-high boots. I did not want to walk on the beach. I kept saying “are you serious? I’m in boots. I don’t want to go to the beach.” His exact words were “just take them off. You’re being a buzzkill.” So I took off my boots and we started walking along the beach. I was not happy 😂 I kept asking “how much longer” and “how far are we going to walk”. We walked a ways down the beach when all of a sudden I notice a cute white blanket with a frilly white umbrella. There was a basket of champagne and a bouquet of sunflowers. My exact words were “oh that’s cute”. Then in the corner of my eye I see Connor drop to one knee. I was stunned. I honestly blacked out and don’t remember everything he said in that moment. Once I said yes, we hugged and kissed. Then, this random man came from out of nowhere and said “I’ve been following you guys down the whole beach”. I was thinking who tf is this guy?! It was the photographer 🥹 Connor literally had everything planned. Then, we jumped into our engagement shoot! Now knowing what I know, I feel really bad for how I was acting when we first got to the beach lol. After the engagement shoot, Connor told me his mom helped him plan everything, and we should go over to her place to share the exciting news! We got into the car, and I instantly tried calling my mom. She didn't answer. Connor said, “No no don’t call your mom. Let’s just enjoy this moment the two of us for a little while.” I thought that was fishy, but I didn’t think too much of it. Once we got to his mom’s, we walked up, knocked on the door, and I jumped and shouted WE’RE ENGAGED as she opened the door. There I noticed, Connor invited all of my family, his family, and our friends to celebrate our engagement. It was the best day ever 💗 I later found out that Connor had been planning the engagement and engagement party with my friends and family for months, and I never suspected a thing. It was the best possible surprise❤️
