They met at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in gross anatomy class. Chris was "studying" to be an Athletic Trainer and Sam was studying to be an Occupational Therapist. They would meet with friends at Chimy's, Cricket's, and tailgates and finally dropped their own "friend" title a few months later. They dated through the rest of school and then began their long distance relationship. Chris lived in Florida and Texas, while Sam moved to Las Vegas (testing out her career as a pro poker player). In May 2019 Sam decided to move back to Texas to start a new job and be closer to Chris.....he decided to make the move and their relationship more permanent!

Sam and Chris were planning to make a drive from Las Vegas to Dallas to move Sam back home. They decided they wanted to stop on the way to see the Grand Canyon together. Chris also had other plans. After he had talked to his family and hers, he designed the perfect ring. With the best question in mind Chris found the perfect spot with a great view and asked Sam to marry him.....not surprisingly she said "yes!!"
