Dear friends and family, Thank you for visiting our website. We knew when choosing a location for our wedding that it was going to be difficult for many of our friends and family to attend. We hope to give you as much time as possible to plan your visit, if you're able, and to introduce you to all the natural beauty, landscapes, delicious food and vibrant culture Northeast Alabama has to offer! Hopefully you'll come to understand why we chose a tiny town on Lookout Mountain. The wedding will be held in Mentone, AL, an old log cabin town of around 360 people situated in the foothills of the Appalachians. The painting above is the Inn where the ceremony will be, as painted by the bride's father. It's far removed from any big city. In Mentone, you can enjoy the largest canyon this side of the Mississippi, beautiful hills and mountains, stunning waterfalls and abundant wildlife. It's long been a destination town for people across the Southeast. It's a real melting pot of different people; it has a vibrant art and LGBT community living harmoniously with proper Appalachian hill folk. We understand that for many of you, the journey South will be not be easy. If possible, we hope to save everyone some hassle and provide a few resources for lodging and accommodations. Please check our "travel" tab for more information regarding travel to and from Mentone, and possible lodging and accommodations in the Northeast Alabama area. We will update the website with several sightseeing options for our guests to enjoy while in and around Lookout Mtn as we get closer to the wedding. As a final note, we completely understand if circumstances prevent you from attending-- please let us know if this may be the case. Our intention is to have a wedding party in both D.C. and Massachusetts for anyone unable to make the trip South. Thank you for your support and we look forward to showing you some real Southern hospitality! Love, Sam and Carter
