We met at Christ Community Chapel in Hudson, OH on Christmas Eve. Brendan had been living in Houston but was home for Christmas. Brendan's parents (Dan & Sheila) and I (Samantha) are friends from being in a bible study together. I noticed all of them walking into the sanctuary, and went over to say "Hi". After service, Brendan told his mom he would like to take me out for coffee. Two days later we met up and the rest is history! We are grateful to God for bringing us together in such a unique and divine way. "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps." - Proverbs 16:9
We went golfing at Ellsworth Golf Course with Brendan's sister, Erin, and brother-in-law, Colin. Neither of us were playing very well so tensions were high. On the 9th hole, Brendan stood straight behind me as I lined up to tee off. I swung, shanked the ball, and looked extremely irritated as I stared down the fairway. Brendan repeated my name several times trying to get me to turn around. I reluctantly turned, embarrassed at my last shot, and Brendan is on one knee asking me to marry him. My anger quickly transitioned into excitement as I answered "YES!" All glory, honor and praise to the Most High! We are so excited to celebrate our commitment to the Lord and to one another. "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
