FAQs

If anyone has questions, you can also text me (3052983900) or Armand (7864798665). We can help you plan accommodations and give advice on traveling to Kinsale, as well as help plan itineraries for travel around Ireland and beyond!
Question

Where should we fly into?

Answer

You and your family can choose to fly into anywhere in Europe if you are planning on traveling beyond Ireland. To get to the wedding, you will need to fly into Dublin Airport or Cork Airport. Dublin is the bigger international airport, so you will most likely find cheaper rates there. Cork is smaller but closer to our wedding destination!

Question

How do we get from Dublin Airport to Kinsale?

Answer

There are a few options to get to Kinsale from Dublin: 1. Rent a car! This is our favorite option. Renting a car really is not so difficult, and driving in Ireland is quite scenic. 2. Take another flight from Dublin to Cork. From there, you can take the bus (line 226) to Kinsale or rent a car or take a cab (this is an hour drive, so I'd expect the cab to cost over $50 USD). 3. Fly to Kerry and then take the line 226 bus to Kinsale, or rent a car. Kerry is absolutely stunning, and would be a great place to visit before or after the wedding. 4. Take the train from Dublin to Cork and then take the bus (or rent a car) from Cork to Kinsale. This option involves a lot fo public transportation. You would have to take the bus from Dublin Airport the the Heuston Train station, then ride the train from Dublin to Cork, and then take the bus from Kinsale to Cork. 5. Ride a bus from Dublin Airport to Cork, then switch buses to get from Cork to Kinsale. 6. Hire a private driver.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

I would recommend staying in Kinsale, as it is closer to the pre-wedding festivities and the wedding ceremony. In Kinsale there are tons of options including: 1. Hotels 2. Bed and Breakfasts 3. Airbnbs/ home rentals You can also choose to stay outside of the town, but would recommend renting a car if this is your choice. For a list of some accommodations, head to the travel section of the website.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels for the wedding ceremony.

Answer

Yes! We have hired two buses that will be picking everyone up from Kinsale and taking them to the wedding ceremony, the reception, and back home at the end of the night! For those choosing to drive to the ceremony and reception- Ireland has very strict no drinking and driving laws. They often set up checkpoints and breathalyze people for no reason. People get in trouble for even having one drink! If you would like to drink at the wedding, please elect to join us on the buses rather than drive yourself!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! We have decided to do a Cocktail Dress Code. What does that mean? Think elegant garden party. Lighter colors, and not so formal but still elegant and polished. Men would still wear a suit and tie. Women can choose between a floor length dress, midi length, or tea length but nothing so embellished or fancy. Remember that the wedding ceremony will take place on a cliff, so I do not recommend wearing any pointy heels or anything too tall. Comfort is better here, as the drinks reception will also take place on a lawn. If you have any questions on this one, let us know!
