Our Story

Love at First Buzz

During the first week of 2017, Samantha and Alex matched on Bumble. Samantha was interested in getting to know Alex better so she decided to send a message (Bumble requires that the girl makes the first move). After talking for 3 weeks, and Samantha playing hard to get, Alex asked Samantha out to dinner. They met at Houlihans in Paramus. After an enjoyable dinner, Samantha decided she wanted coffee after. Alex accompanied her to Starbucks and learned early on about her obsession with coffee. After Starbucks, Alex escorted Samantha to her car and the couple shared their first kiss in the rain. After their first date, They couldn't stop thinking about each other and they planned their second date within the next week. The next few months were filled with many dinners and their first of many country concerts (The Women of Country). The couple bonded over their love of country music and still do to this day. Over the next year, the couple enjoyed taking trips together, going to tons of country concerts, spending time and getting to know each other's families, and falling more and more in love. This all led to the 2 deciding to live together in the Spring of 2018. They spent their first year living together in Secaucus before deciding to move closer to family in Hawthorne, in spring of 2019. After almost 2 years of living together and 3 years of dating, Alex decided he wanted to propose to Samantha.

The Proposal

On Sunday, March 15, 2020, Samantha thought she was going to a Pre-St. Patrick's day party at her dad's house. When they arrived and entered the backyard, Alex got down on one knee and asked Samantha for her hand in marriage. She, of course, said YES!! To Samantha's surprise, both their families were hiding in the house and watched as the couple began a new chapter in their relationship. Now the couple is spending their time social distancing by wedding planning and looking forward to the day they get to say "I Do" on March 14, 2021.
