Alexis and Samantha met in Chino Hills their junior year of high school and quickly became close friends. Their love story, however, would take ten years to begin unfolding. This is because, despite having an undeniable connection and chemistry (which everyone seemed to notice but them) they were both in relationships with other people. Not to mention, after high school, Alexis would be joining the U.S. Marines and Samantha would be moving back to Los Angeles to attend college. But, before going their separate ways, Samantha and Alexis would see each other one final time at a family BBQ hosted for Alexis, in honor of his departure for bootcamp. It was at that gathering that Alexis's late grandfather, Miguelito, predicted and declared that Alexis and Samantha would one day become a couple and be together forever. Of course, they both thought this was crazy! In the years that followed, and as their lives took them down very different paths (and opposite sides of the world) Alexis and Samantha remained in touch, cheered each other on when life was good, and cheered each other up when life was not as good. Whenever Alexis was home visiting, they made sure to grab dinner together to catch up and fill each other in on life updates. Their goodbyes were never easy because they never knew when they would see each other again. Then, as fate would have it, Fall of 2017 happened. While Alexis was preparing to return home (a single man) after completing his final term with the U.S. Marines, it just so happened that Samantha, herself, was now a single lady. Not wanting to attend his final Marine Ball alone, Alexis decided to ask Samantha whether she would like to join him in Savannah, Georgia, and be his date. Of course, she gracefully (and excitedly) accepted! As Samantha prepared for her trip to Savannah, she never would have imagined that her life would forever be changed, and the love story she and Alexis had unknowingly been writing, would now become apparent to them both. The stars in the heavens had now perfectly aligned for these two best friends to finally become life partners.
