Question

What is a Silent Disco and why are you doing it?

Answer

Samantha, as many of you may know, has had more than a few concussions. She has now been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury (TBI), which has caused permanent sound and light sensitivity. You may have seen her at events with headphones and/or sunglasses on, as this is the only way she can enjoy loud environments. To mitigate this issue for our wedding, we have decided to have a Silent Disco! A Silent Disco is a party in which everyone will get a set of wireless headphones connected to three channels of music that we have curated for the day as an alternative to a DJ or band playing loud music through speakers. This allows Samantha to be able to enjoy her wedding fully, but it also means that we will all be able to socialize comfortably without shouting, protect our ears from damage, and choose our own music! We will also be playing one of our playlists at a low volume on speakers so that there is not complete silence outside of the headphones.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal and cocktail attire are both great choices. But there a few things we want you to keep in mind: 1) Our ceremony and cocktail hour will both be in the outside area of the barn. Please dress comfortably for the weather and wear shoes that you can walk on rocks and gravel in. 2) When doing your hair, keep in mind that we will all be wearing headphones during the reception!
