FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask that you dress in semi-formal attire for the event. Please remember, the celebration will be at a ski resort, and there will be a bit of a walk on a gravel path to and from the ceremony, so comfortable shoes are a must! Also, since the weather can be a bit unpredictable, we recommend bringing a warm layer in case it gets chilly. And don’t forget to wear something you can dance in!

Question

Will there be children at the wedding?

Answer

As much as we love all the kiddos in our lives, we kindly ask that you join us without them.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The venue offers a shuttle service, and we’ll share the pickup schedule closer to June 21st. Please be sure to be ready at your designated time for pickup. If you're driving to Ski Bowl, kindly plan to be at the chair lift by 3:00pm to make sure everything runs smoothly!

Question

Will the ceremony/reception be held indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be held outdoors next to the mid-mountain lodge and the reception will be held in an event tent at the base of the resort with an indoor/outdoor dance floor.

Question

How do we get to and from the ceremony at mid-mountain?

Answer

Here’s the fun part! We’ll take the chair lift up to the Historic Warming Hut at mid-mountain for the ceremony. To head down to the reception at the base, we’ll ride the alpine slide! For guests who prefer not to take the chair lift or alpine slide, there will be a shuttle available for easy transportation up and down.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

June in Oregon can bring some unpredictable weather! We might wake up to snow in the morning and have sunshine by evening, with everything in between. Be sure to check the weather forecast as the date gets closer and plan accordingly. Whether it’s snow (how fun would that be!), rain, or shine, this event is happening!

Question

How will I get to the venue?

Answer

There will be a shuttle service available for anyone staying in Government Camp—please take advantage of this service and avoid crossing the highway! While there is a bridge from Government Camp to Ski Bowl EAST, the wedding will be at Ski Bowl WEST. If you're driving to the venue, please park in the Ski Bowl West parking lot.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that everyone turn off their phones during the ceremony. We have a wonderful photographer who will be capturing all the special moments, so you can be fully present with us. We’ll be sure to share the photos with you afterwards!

Question

How do I get to Government Camp?

Answer

Government Camp is a small unincorporated community at the base of Mt. Hood, right off Highway 26. If you're flying into Portland, renting a car is the most convenient way to get to Mt. Hood. However, if you'd prefer not to rent a car, there is a shuttle service from PDX to Government Camp. Feel free to reach out to Sam and Sean if you have any questions or concerns—we’re happy to help!

Question

Will there be any other events?

Answer

On Friday June 20th, we will have a Welcome Party at the Ratskeller in Government Camp. Everyone is welcome to join! There will be a separate RSVP for this event.

Question

How will we be receiving updates for the event?

Answer

We'll be sharing all event updates here on this website. You'll receive notifications (via email or text) whenever there’s a new post, so be sure to keep an eye out!
