Tyler and Sami met as coworkers during "winter" of 2015. They started off as a pretty good team at a small Pizza restaurant called Stavros. As time went on they became good friends who went to the movies or grabbed dinner after work. Tyler knew Sami had lived in Florida for less than 1 year at that point and started to show her classic Florida livin' - like New Smyrna Beach, Tijuana Flats, and Waffle House! What started off as two coworkers - grew into two best friends. Tyler would show up to work extra early to complete Sami's opening tasks. He would also invite his friends to the restaurant, wait on the table, then scold his friends to make sure they left Sami a good tip. Fast forward to summer of 2016 and the two are together as much as they can be - even after the restaurant closed. The couple took turns staying weekends with the other with a lot of driving back and forth. Eventually they moved in together in an apartment near UCF where they started to feed some outside feral dumpster kitties in the winter of 2019. You may now know these kitties as Nacho and Mamas! The kitties were brought inside when Tyler and Sami moved to another small apartment in Casselberry in 2020. Working from home and online student work is enough to drive anyone crazy! For fresh air, mental clarity, and exercise - Secret Lake Park was found nearby and provided an escape from the crazy 2020 world for the couple. What started as a little walk around the park opened up their world to watching the ducklings grow, seeing the heads of turtles pop around the water, and the community of neighbors hosting events daily at the park. Through the hot Florida sun, downpouring rainy season, and "cold" winter - the park became a staple for the couple. Tyler and Sami fell in love with the community of Casselberry thanks to this park. Again, fast forward to 2022 - the pair knew they wanted more roots in the ground in Casselberry. Thanks to the help of some family and a lot of hard work - Tyler and Sami purchased their first home together in May of 2022, and don't forget the kitties! Life got a little busier as they took on homeownership and they didn't go on as many walks at the park. But, after 2 years of getting their feet wet in homeownership, the two decided to dedicate time to walking again for a healthier lifestyle and mental clarity. On a walk at this park is where Tyler got down on one knee and asked Sami to marry him. This park is where they took their engagement photos. And after 3 months of being engaged, this park is where they decided to elope and officially make this a forever thing. Through their journey together - constantly facing new challenges - they tackled them together one by one. This has helped mold their relationship into what it is today. A relationship built on love, care, and going the extra mile for each other. Here we are now almost 9 years later together and celebrating our first full year of marriage. We thank you for being here with us and for us. Looking forward to what life brings and the new journey that awaits.
