We first met at Eastern Maine Community College. Samantha was immediately attracted to Derick. She thought that he was so kind and funny. Derick wasn't so sure about Samantha. A few years had past and one Thanksgiving a text was received from Derick to Samantha saying 'Happy Thanksgiving'. Derick likes to take his time with things. That was all it took though and they became a couple the following year. They shared many weekends commuting to see one another until they moved into their first apartment, then to another, to another and another until September 2019 they moved into their home in Blue Hill, ME. Six years and six months later (Again, Derick likes to take his time) Derick asked Samantha to marry him at the Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, ME under the twinkling lights of the rose garden December 26th 2019.
